A few years ago Jo-andra Cloete Greegory, who farms in the Joostenbergvlakte near Cape Town, started producing broilers to boost her income. Our Poultry Place is highly successful operation, and she is mentoring over a hundred other farmers. Jo-andra is one of the competitives in the 2021 Annual Agri Western Cape and Santam Young Farmer’s competition. In our program of 29 April, she tells us more about her beginnings and her plans for the future.

PF Theron is the Chairman of the Agri Western Cape Young Farmer’s committee. He has some information regarding the 2021 event. The winner of this competition will be announced on 19 May 2021

John Rafferty , Agricultural Adviser and mark Trip, Shareholder of Quantum Detection Solutions tells us more about new technology taking agriculture by storm. Their company makes use of patented quantum technology that allows us to detect and locate all substances, organic or in-organic, regardless of its position.

Bertha Seleka was chosen as the Beefmaster Group’s Cattle farmer of the month. Her farming enterprise is based in Kimberley. She studied Public Management but struggled to find a job. Farming opened the door to her success today. Her dream is to become a commercial farmer and create jobs in the Kimberley area.
