Non-life insurer Old Mutual Insure, and the SwiftVee AgriTech company, have announced the launch of VeeSure, a new digital insurance solution designed to support the ever-changing needs of the South African livestock buyer and production auction market.
“As the innovators of online livestock auctions in South Africa, we pride ourselves on bridging the divide between traditional agricultural business and the benefits of cutting-edge technology. We are excited to partner with Old Mutual Insure and pioneer innovation in the agricultural insurance sector, which will add significant value to all stakeholders,” says Russel Luck, chief executive officer of SwiftVee.
Building the digital ecosystem
“With this technology game-changer, we provide access to a digital ecosystem for the livestock buyer. They can now buy animals online via a live streaming virtual auction, connect with the livestock agent and the auctioneer, and have access to the VeeSure online insurance solution to protect their new proud investment. All on one platform at the point of sale, and from the convenience of their home or office, “adds Hannes Smith, executive of alternative business solutions at Old Mutual Insure.
“Farmers are increasingly embracing technology. They want to push buttons and not waste time filling in endless forms when they buy livestock. However, thereafter, they want to work with someone in person, someone they can trust. The VeeSure solution does just that, online insurance with a personal touch,” says JP Swart from SwiftVee.
People want to know the name of the person who will assist them in future after they bought a product online. VeeSure offers a service model where customers will also have access to the Old Mutual Insure Agri Services and Claims specialist support teams.
“It is an exciting moment in a new era. Together, Old Mutual Insure and SwiftVee have a pool of resources, data and digital capabilities, technology, and agricultural risk expertise to deliver this industry first innovation and effortless experience to customers. It is about moving beyond the obvious things customers want and expanding the boundaries to deliver on what we would love customers to experience in future,” concludes Liza de Beer, product development manager at Old Mutual Insure.
