Founded by Tommie Schoeman in 2008, Trim Cut celebrated ten years in business in 2018. “I grew up in Tzaneen on the family farm and sawmill, gaining exceptional knowledge about fauna and flora from my dad and grandfather,” says Schoeman. “The knowledge of trees they gave me played a big role in my successful pruning business. I started with a single Allcut pruning machine and with a lot of hard work and effort, quickly grew into a small, yet efficient company.”

Based in Tzaneen, Trim Cut also operates in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Eastern Cape. “We specialize in orchard pruning,” says Schoeman. “Today we have everything from mechanical skirting and pruning machines to cherry pickers as well as selective hand pruning teams, which is becoming more popular every season.”

In 2012, Israeli family business Afron offered Schoeman its agency for sub-Saharan Africa. “It is a wonderful range of products, including mechanical pruners, cherry pickers, date harvesters and pollinators as well as hydraulically driven loppers and chainsaws. Afron has more than 60 years of experience in machine building and takes pride in delivering exceptional quality products, just as we take pride in our excellent service and well trained staff.
