With more than half of the tents for the two-day Tru-Cape Grabouw Weekend Warrior event on May 11 and 12, already sold before the end of April, it is set to be a bumper weekend with the promise of much-needed cash for Grabouw High School, the event’s beneficiary.

Giant bikes will be hosting a demo day on Saturday 11 May and their pro team, Imbuko Giant Pro, will be there.
Prizes include a dinner, bed and breakfast and pamper massage for two at Trails End in Grabouw while the Elgin Railway market - the area’s hottest new food and crafts market - is giving away lunch for four to the value of R600 and two bottles of Elgin wine to the value of R300 and, keeping with fruits of the vine, The Wacky Wine Festival is giving away two weekend passes and four bottles of wine.

For riding enthusiasts, Giant is giving away three multi tools, gloves, Giant tops and Giant control tanks.

Food vendors include Terbodore Coffee Roasters, Ishushu wood-fired eats, Dos Chido and a Spit Braai.
Everyone’s favourite laid-back emcee and media personality, Deon Bing will be the event’s host and will be selling Bings Bru, the English Pale-Ale style craft beer on Saturday.

Pre-book a massage so you don’t have to wait in line for one.

Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing, the largest exporter of South African apples and pears, sponsors this event as part of its CSI strategy to support events in the apple and pear growing region that encourages a healthy lifestyle.
While online entries close on Wednesday May 8, and there will be a late registration fee for registration on the day, last-minute entrants are welcome.
